After almost 93 years in business, Loehmann’s is closing its doors for good, and Thursday will mark the beginning of a $65 million liquidation sale. If you’re a tried and true bargain hunter (like me) then this is devastating news. Where else will you find the discounted Theory suits, M Missoni sundresses, and Pucci scarves that you’ve been buying all these years? My advice, head to Century 21 for the scarves and European designer section, and to Nordstrom Rack for the handful of Theory, Vince, and racks of denim (there are many, many racks).
But until Loehmann’s final days, swing by the store to get your hot little hands on some last minute deals. The Chelsea location is chock full of Theory separates. Think blazers, sundresses, sweaters, etc in light lilac, green, navy, black, and khaki. There’s also a hearty selection of Rag and Bone and platform Prada sandals. The entire store is discounted an additional 10-40% off ticketed prices, and new merchandise should be arriving periodically until the store officially closes in March. This is truly a sad day for fashionistas everywhere.
